How many photographers' websites have you visited lately? Are they starting to run together in your brain? Do you really care where we've all traveled, what schools we've attended, what personal project we're working on, or what award we won most recently?
Sure you do, on one level. But the primary reason that you visit a commercial photographer’s website is because you're looking for solutions - solutions to visual problems. You need to get a project underway - and you want to hire someone who can get the job done. Someone who has the experience and technical skills to deliver what you need. Someone with a distinctive, creative vision. Someone who knows the importance of meeting a deadline. In a word, someone who understands that its really all about taking care of you - getting the imagery you need, when you need it, and on a budget that you can live with.
My goal as a photographer is exactly that - to help you meet your goal. I do that wellbecause I am passionate about helping creative people solve creative challenges.
I know that it takes more than just settling for the first idea that comes along. Often it’s the fifth or sixth or even the tenth idea that’s the really great one – the creative breakthrough that really solves the problem at hand.
Sure, it helps that I've been in the business of producing corporate, advertising and editorial imagery for more than 25 years. I have experience working for a number of corporations and publications, including IBM, Texaco, Wendy's, Business Week, and Newsweek. Although I’m based in the Raleigh / Durham / RTP region I have worked on assignment throughout the U.S. and abroad. Many times over, I’ve faced the pressure of getting that great image of a corporate executive who only has three minutes to spare. Not to mention the similar stress of producing an interesting, visually exciting image in a laboratory environment where access is limited to a brief 15-minute window.
But it takes more than technical skill to get a project done. You really want to enjoy working with your creative partners. Good results come from that hard-to-define interplay of personalities that makes a great creative team. I bring a lot to the table in that regard as well. One of the first things people notice about me is my enthusiasm for what I do. I love working with people - and I love creating photographs. Seeing a client respond to an image that reflects exactly what he or she was hoping to capture makes my day. I think that kind of enthusiasm is contagious and creatively energizing!
Clients also frequently comment on my persistence and passion for quality. I don't accept just adequate photographs, and I doubt you do either. At least you shouldn’t. You want the best we're capable of producing - and I am committed to providing that for you. And I want more than just the best photographs. I want working with me to be the best creative collaboration you’ve ever experiencedl! Every time you look at the images we create, I want you to smile (and, of course, tell your other creative colleagues how pleased you are!) Thanks for considering me as you plan your photographs. I sincerely look forward to talking with you.
